KauX dental chewing gum with xylitol

Xylitol also prevents bad breath. Since it stimulates saliva production, it has two effects against bad breath:
Firstly, saliva contains a lot of oxygen, which keeps the anaerobic bacteria at bay
Secondly, these bacteria are swallowed together with the saliva

What is xylitol?
Xylitol is a natural substance and is extracted from plants. The xylitol in kauX chewing gums is derived from grain instead of wood (mostly birch). The advantage of this is that the technique is less complex and much less starting material is needed. Furthermore, grain is a fast growing raw material. Genetically manipulated grain is guaranteed not to be used. The modern extraction process guarantees pure, carefully produced xylitol.
